We did it!!!! The show was a complete success! (almost)

We’ve done two shows at Cadogan Hall, and when you count the number of standing ovations we got… total count is FOUR! Je Ne Regrette Rien went down a treat, and well, I have a feeling that I FEEL PRETTY will become a standard song in the chorus’ repertoire!
Aparrently we also managed to reduce the Deputy Mayor of London to tears… as well as my sister! Strangely enough though, my sister was balling when we sang JERUSALEM. I accept we sing it beautifully (no rugby here!), but I wouldn’t cry!
There was only one cringey part in the whole show. One of our small group songs “OH ROSE THOU ART SICK” had awful images of cruising boys being projected up onto a thirty foot screen behind the main chorus. Yeah… odd!
Anyhoo… I’d like to thank Mark, Anne, Samantha, (Sam’s friend), Simone, Raynee, (Raynee’s friend), Lesley (my sister) and of course my beloved Bryan for coming along on the Saturday night show to support me! I really appreciate it! Thanks also to my folks for raising your glasses high on the first night. I could feel you were thinking of me as I stepped onto stage for the first time ever!
BRING ON CHRISTMAS!!!!!!
Gillian in London for the weekend
Gillian, Bryan’s sister is down in London for the weekend. Always good to see her and we usually do something touristy when people come to visit… this trip was no exception.
We did Brighton this time, which was good fun. It’s a lovely little city, and the Pier was really good. Shame the wind was up as we didn’t get to do everything in ‘the amusements’ that we wanted. Still… Bumper Cars, Log Flume, Horror House and a really fast whirly gig thing… we had a good time.
I just wish I wasn’t sick… I’m sure I’d have enjoyed the whole trip more!
Lesley & Euan in London
My sister Lesley and Bro-in-law Euan, came to London to see the new ‘Lord Of The Rings’ show at the Theatre Royal on Drury Lane. Obviously a few hours were spent in eachother’s company, including dinner at our favourite London Italian (Aurora), The Blue Man Group (BRILLIANT!!!) and a walk around Carnaby Street (YEAH BABY, YEAHHH!!!) finished off with a stroll along South Bank (Yip, the skateboarders still can’t stay on).
A fab time… and unfortunately, not enough piccies, due to Lesley loosing her camera charger, and me being a dunce and not bringing my camera.
We did however have phones…. so here are a few ‘grainy’ shots from the past few days.
Hope you enjoy!

Dreen a little Dreen of me!
My mum’s friend Dreen stopped over in London on her way to Seattle (to visit her daughter), so I met her at
Heathrow and took her on a day trip of London. We used The Original Tour Bus Group and visited Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, Downing Street, The Houses of Parliament, The Milennium Wheel, London Bridge, The Strand, Tower Bridge, St Pauls, The Tower of London, Embankment, Cleopatra’s Needle, Buckingham Palace, Victoria, Hyde Park, Marble Arch, Oxford Street, Madam Tussauds and Regent Street… and a few other places.
Basically, Dreen has done in one day what has taken me a whole year and a half to do!
I’ve had a great day though! So check out the pcs and see what we got up to!

Lesley in London
Lesley (my sister) came down to London for the weekend!
What a fab weekend, we had dinner in Islington (Gufaa – Friday) and then started Saturday off at the market down at London Bridge. Chocolate Brownies chased down with cappuccino, lunch next to the Clink and a browse at the booksellers market under the bridge at Embankment.
We went to the Lorenz Auditorium on Saturday night to watch BREAKFAST WITH MUGABE which was very good, and then to Imperial China for dinner and wine with nice conversation.
There was a little worry when we returned home as the electricity was out in the entire area. When we woke up on Sunday there was still no electricity so we had to think about cold showers. I decided to only wash my hair… Bryan and I were going to help one-another. You know that feeling that you get when you eat ice-cream too quickly… I had that through my entire head… NEVER AGAIN!!! You wanna know the real bitch… as soon as I had done my hair, the friggen power came on!
Sunday we went shopping around town. Had a lovely day and Lesley managed to get a scarf she’d been eyeing up for a while.
So, all in all… a really lovely weekend!
